Who would benefit from sedation dentistry?
Sedation dentistry provides great benefit for dental patients who are anxious or phobic, have a low pain tolerance, have a sensitive gag reflex, difficulty sitting still, or those undergoing long or complex dental procedures.
Will I be asleep during the procedure?
This is a very common question. We provide conscious sedation which means you are awake but in a sedate, relaxed and drowsy state.
How long does the sedation last?
With inhalation sedation the effects wear off before you leave the dental practice. With intravenous sedation the sedative effect lasts longer and you need someone to supervise you for 24 hours after the procedure. You will be given written instructions at your consultation appointment.
